The GMAT, also known as the Graduate Management Admission Test, is a multiple-choice, computer-based, and computer-adaptive standardized exam that is used internationally for admission to graduate management/business programs (such as MBA programs). And while GMAT is important did you know that it is not a necessity to get into the top universities around the world? Many universities in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand give admissions to candidates with GMAT scores. Check out some of them here.
You can now pursue an MBA in the USA without taking the GMAT if you want to study at one of the best MBA programs in the USA but haven’t studied for the exam.

Florida International University (FIU) | You need to have two years of work experience and a 3.25 GPA or higher in business or a closely related field from your undergraduate studies |
Rutgers Business School | You need to have at least 8 years of professional experience and a 3.0 GPA. |
University of Louisville (UofL) | You must have at least five years of work experience or a master’s, MD, or Ph.D. from a recognized university in order to enroll at UofL. |
Lubin School of Business | During their undergraduate programme, you must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. |
University of Arizona | If you received your undergraduate degree from an accredited university and had a GPA of at least 3.0, you are exempt from the GMAT requirement. |
Some MBA programs in Canada will consider your application if you don’t have a GMAT as long as you meet certain criteria.

University of Central Lancashire | Candidates must hold a 2:2 degree or have equivalent professional experience in a relevant field. Additionally, they must have an IELTS score of at least 6.5. |
University of Edinburgh | - Candidates must have a UG degree with at least 60% of the required marks and at least three years of professional job experience. - International students must provide IELTS or TOEFL scores as evidence of their English language proficiency. |
Cranfield University | For this 12-month program, a candidate must possess a UG degree with at least 60% of the required marks and three years of professional experience. Students must have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 and an IELTS score of 7. |
Middlesex University | Candidates must have at least a UG degree with a 55% overall average and two years of job experience. |
Birmingham City University | A bachelor’s degree with at least a 55% grade point average and a letter of recommendation from an academic institution are prerequisites for overseas students. Additionally, a PTE score of 64 or an aggregate IELTS score of 6 is necessary. |

Melbourne Business School | A minimum of two years of reliable job experience is required by the University of Melbourne. |
Monash University | Monash University provides management courses with a GMAT score as low as 550 or none at all. Despite the fact that a three-year work history is required, management experience of one year is preferred. |
Macquarie Graduate School of Management | You must have a Bachelor’s degree, be proficient in English, and have a GPA of 5.00. (out of 7.00) |
Deakin University | Students must earn 12 credit points, which must be split between 4 credits of elective coursework and 8 credits of core coursework. |
Curtin University | Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 60%. A GMAT score of 550 is required. They should have five years of work experience and an IELTS score of 6.5. |

AIS St. Helens | Candidates must have a minimum of two years of work experience and a bachelor’s degree. The minimum band for IELTS should be 6.5, and no individual band should be lower than 6.0. |
Massey University | Candidates must have an IELTS score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0 in order to apply. Additionally, you must possess a UG degree and more than three years of full-time work experience. |
University of Waikato | Candidates must have 10 + years of experience or at least three years of management experience. In addition, the applicant must have an IELTS score of at least 6.5 in order to enroll in this MBA program. |
The acceptance of applicants without GMAT scores is common at several universities worldwide. So getting into a prestigious university does not require you to have a GMAT.
