In 2016, Lakehead University, in collaboration with Georgian College, introduced 20 innovative degree-diploma programs, offering students a unique combination of college and university education. In 2017, Lakehead University and Georgian College added undergraduate degree programs to their offerings. These include a Collaborative Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree along with an Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science in Environmental Sustainability with an Environmental Technician diploma, an Honours Bachelor of Science in Applied Life Sciences with a Biotechnology-Health diploma, and an Honours Bachelor of Computer Science with a Computer Programming diploma. Through this partnership, Lakehead University and Georgian College are able to cater to nearly 3000 students, equipping them with practical skills and critical thinking capabilities to meet the demands of the growing economy. With combined facilities worth $540 million, the institutions provide students with access to state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, and libraries. On-campus amenities include eateries, a fitness center, and housing options for students. International students enrolling in the Lakehead-Georgian partnership are automatically eligible for Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships, which can range from CAD 6,000 to CAD 40,000 based on their academic achievements.
