The University of Chichester, which commemorated its 180th anniversary in 2019, has a notable history in providing higher education. With two campus locations, the Bishop Otter campus was founded in 1839 by William Otter, the Bishop of Chichester. In 2005, the University of Chichester was officially recognized by the Privy Council with its approval of the title. Students have access to a variety of resources at the Bishop Otter campus, including the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), equipped with a Support and Information Zone (SIZ), Costa café, and meeting areas. Additionally, Mac and PC suites and Equipment Loans are available to students. The campus is also home to The Show Room, a state-of-the-art 250-seat theatre utilized by the Dance and Theatre Departments. Biomechanics, Physiology and Psychology laboratories, as well as Sports Performance and Rehabilitation Uni (SPRU) and the Sports Injury Clinic, are just a few of the many facilities offered at this location. The Bishop Otter Campus is primarily dedicated to academic departments such as Law, Theatre and Dance, Humanities, Sports, Art, and BSc (Hons) Psychology programs.
