The Université de Moncton, commonly known as the University of Moncton, is a publicly funded institution located in New Brunswick, Canada. It was founded in 1963 and offers a diverse range of academic programs, including 40 postgraduate programs. Over 53,000 degrees have been conferred by the university since its inception. The course offerings include but are not limited to Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Music, and Psychology. With six libraries on campus, namely the Rhía-Larose Library, the Champlain Library, and the Shippagan Library, students have access to a wide range of resources, including books, journals, media, and e-publications. Part-time courses are also available in various fields, such as Biotechnology, Visual Arts, Translation, and Biology. The university's unique Co-operative/COOP Education programs provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on, professional experience, by working for 3-4 months while studying. Some of the popular COOP programs include Business Administration - Finance, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Management. The University of Moncton has established various inter-institutional agreements that recognize the educational qualifications earned by students at other universities. To meet the university's French language requirements, a French Immersion program is offered, which consists of four courses in the first year, specially designed for students from an English-based education system. The Continuing Education program at the university offers workshops and seminars, including courses on Contemporary Management, French in Business, and Healthy Start, aimed at helping students enhance their career skills. It costs approximately CAD 7,860 for domestic students and CAD 13,808 for international students to complete a baccalaureate program at the university. The university also provides financial aid, such as the Bourses Abdou-Diouf, Bourses Harrison-McCain, and Bourses d'accueil, to assist students with their academic pursuits. On-campus accommodation options include Lafrance, Lefebvre, and Midard-Collette residences, which offer studio apartments for students. Short-term and summer housing is also available for interns and guests. The university promotes physical activity and recreation by providing access to various sports facilities, including badminton courts, CrossFit training, and a swimming pool, as well as opportunities to participate in theater productions and music performances.
