Western University, formerly known as the University of Western Ontario, is a renowned public research institution that was established in Ontario, Canada in the year 1878. Currently, it has an impressive student population of 40,000, out of which 5,800 students are international, representing 128 countries worldwide. Western University also offers the IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning in collaboration with the International Baccalaureate, providing educators with the necessary skills to enhance their teaching abilities. In addition, the ASPIRE program offers Additional Qualification and Teacher Professional Development courses. Financial aid options are available to students in the form of scholarships, bursaries, loans, student employment, and grants, including the Loran Award, Surex Scholarship Program, OSAP, First Generation Bursary, and Work-Study. The university provides accommodation for undergraduate students in traditional, suite, and hybrid-style buildings, such as Delaware Hall, Alumni House, and London Hall. There are also accommodation options for graduate students at the University Apartments and for families at Platt's Lane Estates.
