These programmes include certificate and diploma programmes that aim to equip students with practical skills and employability. Certificate programmes offered at the university require students to complete an unpaid work placement in order to receive their programme certificate or graduate from the institution. This work placement gives students a valuable learning experience in a real workplace environment. The main objective of the work placement is to develop and demonstrate high standards of behavior and performance that are typically expected in a professional setting. Through this, students are able to gain technical skills and enhance their employability, contributing to their personal growth and development. In addition, the work placement enables students to expand their network of connections, providing them with a broader perspective on potential career paths. Depending on the programme, the work placement can last for two weeks or six weeks for certificate and diploma programmes, respectively. Students are required to commit a minimum of 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week as per the employer's requirements. The work placement typically takes place during the intersession period, subject to the availability of suitable employers. For students who complete their studies out of the regular course sequence, the work placement will take place in the semester immediately following the last semester of their studies. On completion of their certificate programmes, students will only undertake a two-week work placement. For students in their first year of a two-year diploma programme, the work placement will take place at the end of their second year.
