Eligibility of Florida State University
The following information pertains to international applicants who are non-native English speakers and are seeking admission to the University. Official results for English Language Proficiency are required for all applicants and the minimum scores for undergraduate admission are provided below.
1. All foreign students whose mother tongue is not English must present official scores for English Language Proficiency.
2. The required minimal scores for being admitted into the University's undergraduate programs are given as follows:
- IBTOEFL (Internet-based TOEFL): 80
- TOEFL (TOEFL) on paper: 550
- Pearson International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS): 6.5
- PTE (Professional English Test): 55
- The Michigan Language Assessment (MLA): 120
- Cambridge C1 Advanced Level or C2 Advanced Level: 180
- FSU Proficiency CIES (Level 8) successfully completed.
3. The scores are only considered official if they are sent directly to the Office of Admissions from the testing agency.
4. They will not be accepted if they are older than two years.
