Eligibility of Newcastle University
Newcastle University recognizes certain Indian degrees for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In order to be eligible for undergraduate courses, a minimum average of 75 percent in Standard XII is required, which is equivalent to ABB at A level. This criterion is applicable for degrees obtained from Secondary Education Central Board (CBSE), Indian School Certificate Council (CISCE), National Open Schooling Institute (NIOS), state boards, and independent schools. However, the specific qualification requirements may vary for each course and should be verified.
For postgraduate admission, a 2.1 equivalent is considered for universities with 60% in section 1, 62% in section 2, and 65% in section 3. Similarly, for a 2.2 equivalent, universities with 58% in section 1, 60% in section 2, and 63% in section 3 are considered. This can be fulfilled by holding a Bachelor of Science degree, a general arts, science, or commerce degree, a Bachelor's degree with honors or specialization, or a bachelor's degree in a professional field.
Placements
Undergraduate students have the opportunity to engage in a work placement for a duration of 9-12 months. The placement is organized by either the Careers Service or their respective School.
