Eligibility of Pratt Institute

To apply for admission to the university, students must meet a variety of eligibility requirements. One of these is the submission of official proof of their performance on either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT 1) or the American College Testing Program (ACT). While the essay section of the SAT is optional, the ACT writing test can also be taken at the student's discretion. Students should note that taking either the SAT or ACT has no impact on their chances of being admitted. Furthermore, all international students and those whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their English language proficiency through one of the following tests: TOEFL, TOEFL Home Edition, TOEFL ITP Plus, PTE, IELTS, IELTS Indicator, or Duolingo. If desired, students may choose to submit their SAT or ACT scores in place of one of these exams, with no minimum required score. For international students whose first language is English, they may take any of the aforementioned exams as well as the SAT or ACT. Official results should be sent directly from the testing company, and it is recommended that students review the international criteria prior to taking these exams.
