Eligibility of The City College of New York

Academic qualifications needed for admission into this university are as follows: for domestic applicants, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. International students are also welcome to apply and must have a foreign equivalent degree, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or the equivalent in the US 4.0 GPA system). These students must also have a passing score of at least 79 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or a score of 6.5 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Our university has a high number of international students who often stay for OPT (Optional Practical Training) after their degree completion. Please ensure that your application includes the appropriate use of GPA systems used in the US. Students who have attended secondary or post-secondary institutions outside of the US and those who require a student (F-1) visa will be considered as international students. For admission, they must submit complete transcripts, certifications, and translations (if needed) along with a freshman or transfer application. Those with temporary visas and who are non-native English speakers must take either the TOEFL or IELTS.
