The university is divided into five colleges, namely Social Sciences, Arts & Law, Medical & Dental Sciences, Engineering & Physical Sciences, and Life & Environmental Sciences. It offers a diverse range of courses, such as Anthropology, Drama, English, Theology, Religion, Economics, and Marketing. To ensure that students from all around the world can access high-quality education, the University of Birmingham has introduced several initiatives. These include Distance Learning courses for postgraduates, free Massive Open Online Courses, and Continuing Professional Development Courses. Eligibility of University of Birmingham
Information provided for admission to Birmingham Foundation Programs: To be considered for admission to Birmingham Foundation Academy, applicants must possess a Standard XII Higher Secondary Certificate with an average score of 65% from ICSE, CBSE, or West Bengal State Board. For all other state boards, the minimum requirement is 70%. For Engineering and Physical Sciences program, a minimum of 65% in Mathematics is required from ICSE, CBSE, or West Bengal State Boards. For biology-based degrees, a minimum of 65% in Biology is required from ICSE, CBSE, or West Bengal State Boards. Undergraduate admission: Indian Standard XII graduates are eligible for consideration for admission to the first year of undergraduate degree programs. The following percentage equivalencies will be considered for admission: - A*AA = 90% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 85% West Bengal or 95% Other State boards - AAA = 85% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 80% West Bengal or 90% Other State boards - AAB = 80% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 75% West Bengal or 85% Other State boards - ABB/BBB = 75% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra and West Bengal or 80% Other State boards Graduate School admission (Taught): Applicants must have a four-year bachelor's degree (first-class or upper second-class) OR a three-year bachelor's degree with honors from a reputable Indian institution. The Business School will consider holders of three-year degree programs (first-class or upper second-class) from credible Indian schools for admission to MSc programs. For the LLM program, Birmingham welcomes applications from 3 or 5-year LLB holders from top Indian colleges. English proficiency requirement: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English.
