Eligibility of University of Kent

The university closely evaluates every application on an individual basis, considering its strengths. However, it is essential to note that specific departments may have distinct entry prerequisites that must be fulfilled. As an international preparatory measure, applicants are advised to work hard on their academic performance and meet the university's stringent standards. Foundation Programme - Candidates aspiring to enter the foundation program at Kent University must have scored between 50% to 55% overall, based on the board's evaluation for their Standard XII coursework. Undergraduate - To get admission for undergraduate programs, students must have completed Standard XII under the Indian education system. Applicants are usually required to score between 65% to 75% overall, depending upon the examination board and the course applied for. Specific academic backgrounds and minimum grades may also be specified for certain programs. Postgraduate - For admittance into postgraduate programs (Master's degree), individuals must possess a 3-4 year undergraduate degree (Honors Bachelor degree or Professional degree) from a recognized university or college. While First Class designation, a CGPA of 6.0/10, or 60% is highly preferred for a 2:1 program, students from prestigious universities may also be considered with a high Second Class degree and a final CGPA of 5.5/10 or 55%. PhD - Indian students desiring to pursue a PhD program at Kent University must have successfully obtained a First Class Master's degree, with a CGPA of 6.0/10 or 60% from an accredited university. An applicant with a Second Class degree and a final CGPA of 5.5/10, or equivalent, from a renowned university may also be considered eligible for admission to a PhD program. English Language Proficiency - As the medium of instruction at Kent University is English, students whose first language is not English, language proficiency skills are mandatory. Applicants may be required to take an English language proficiency test to demonstrate their competency in the language. However, as a guide, students must score 6.0 or higher on the IELTS, or 87 or higher on the TOEFL iBT, to be eligible for admission. Scores for other comparable tests may also be considered.
